World-class cabaret artist and musical theater star Peisha McPhee has been charming audiences for several years with her expressive and versatile voice. Peisha headlines at Helen’s Hideaway night club in New York City, and she regularly performs to sold-out crowds at the legendary Cinegrill and Tom Rolla’s Gardenia supper club in Los Angeles.

Peisha is also the Artistic Director of the Best of LA award-winning Cabaret Performance Workshop, as well as maintaining a successful private practice teaching vocal technique and performance. For this, she has been featured in TV Guide, People magazine, and Entertainment Weekly. Peisha has been seen every week in the hit show American Idol as mother and coach of Katharine McPhee.

With a style that has been called “a return to cabaret elegance and sophistication,” and “sometimes sultry and provocative, other times disarmingly comedic,” Peisha's work received LA Weekly’s “Pick Of The Week.” Of her latest show Los Angeles Times wrote:

Her debut CD, “Out of the Blue” has received critical acclaim from Playbill’s National Theater Magazine, stating “…she brings rare passion to American standards.”

Peisha has an active career in television and recently guest-starred on the popular show “Girlfriends”.

Ms. McPhee has also won national acclaim for her work in theater. She has starred as Julie in numerous productions of Showboat, co-starring opposite Davis Gaines and Donald O’Connor. Last year her performance of Julie received such notices as: “McPhee sings the blazes out of ‘Bill’ and ‘Can’t Help Lovin’ Dat Man of Mine.” Other tours include co-starring roles in Guys And Dolls, Man of La Mancha with John McCook, and Fiddler On The Roof opposite Ed Ames and the late Herschel Bernardi. She has also entertained international audiences as guest vocalist on the Princess Cruise Line.

Frequently called upon to perform at special events, Peisha was recently a presenter at the Omni Youth Music Awards and a featured artist at The 15th Annual Television Hall of Fame Awards. She also appeared as featured artist at the Mabel Mercer Foundation’s annual Cabaret Convention in San Francisco, and was also honored as a selected soloist for the Los Angeles Ovation Awards where she sang a tribute to Stephen Sondheim.

Peisha has recently been invited to be a guest consultant and co-host for the new Dr. Keith Ablow Show, slated to air in October 2006.
